Our Chance to have Voices Heard By Washington D.C.
The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Subcommittees on the Interior, Energy, and Environment and Intergovernmental Affairs will hold a field briefing on:
Tuesday, May 1, 2018
10:00 a.m.
University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan
Wombat Room
Testimonies will be given by individuals in support of keeping the Kohler-Andrae monitor for its original purpose which was to measure cross-state pollution, but use the Haven monitor sited per EPA and DNR specifications to measure our nonattainment status. Washington D.C. has listened to our concerns and will be holding this OGR hearing in Sheboygan County.
We are asking you to attend the hearing, and show your support for the use of the Haven monitor solely for Sheboygan County's nonattainment status. The EPA and DNR have admitted that the Kohler-Andrae monitor is not sited correctly for measuring to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), but refuse to change our status using the air monitor which they helped us site to their specifications that measures the pollution generated by our county. This properly sited Haven air monitor measures attainment for the new, more stringent 2015 NAAQS.
